50+ Beautiful Free WordPress Magazine Themes

Magazines are one of the most popular types of WordPress themes. They’re a great way to display a variety of content, work really well whether you have one author or several, and give visitors plenty of options for finding content that interests them.

In this post we’ve rounded up some of our favorite magazine themes for WordPress. The best news? They’re completely free to install and use, and all you need to do is search for them from your WordPress Dashboard to get started. For more detailed instructions on installing WordPress themes, just scroll to the bottom of this post.

All themes are available in the WordPress Theme Directory, which means you can rest assured that they are authentic, good quality themes that have been approved by the WordPress team. If you’re a Lyrical Host customer and you need help getting your theme set up how you want, and/or looking like the demo preview, just raise a ticket with our support team and we’ll do that for you at no cost.

How to install free WordPress themes

Simply log in to your WordPress Dashboard, then go to Appearance > Themes. Click ‘Add New’ at the top of the screen, then use the search bar on the right to enter the name of one of the themes below. Click ‘Install’, then ‘Activate’, and that’s it! Your new theme is live 🙂

Please note that if you’re planning to edit your theme files directly, you’ll want to create a child theme to avoid overwriting your changes when a theme update is released. If you’re a hosting customer and need help with that, just let us know!
